'OH, ALL THE MESSES I CAN MAKE'

No, Gavin has not been painting. That is yogurt. He had started eating a yogurt for breakfast the other day, but quickly refused to finish it. I set the cup with spoon on the counter and just thought I would try again in a few minutes. Well, I was on the phone in the living room and all of the sudden Gavin come walking in looking like this, as though nothing had happened. I couldn't believe the mess that one yogurt cup had made. He had snatched it off the counter and tried to feed himself the rest of it. He is getting to be such a big boy. Tall enough to grab stuff off the counter now I guess. Note to self...do not leave potentially messy things on the counter anymore.

Aunt Tammy came to visit a few weeks ago and was so kind to bring an apple pie with her. Once we polished off the dessert I had thrown the box and pie tin away in the garbage can. Well, Gavin and Banjo thought that there was still something good left in that box because later that day I found the two of them quietly sitting in the pantry eating the left-over crumbs. Gavin had pulled the box out of the trash. You can see Banjo working on the box in the foreground and that Gavin went right to the good stuff in the tin. He looked up at me with this look like 'Mom, there was still lots of good stuff in here'. They are too much.

Aunt Tammy had brought us some 'chocolate honeycomb' from her day trip out in Julian while she was here in California. Gavin obviously found it and didn't hesitate to help himself. Looks like he takes after his mother with the chocolate fetish.

VALENTINE'S DAY 2008. WAITING FOR A TABLE AT THE OLIVE GARDEN

This is an older picture, but I don't think I've posted it and it matched these other two Valentine's Day photos. A walk along the beach at sunset turned into a great photography moment with the golden light.

A DAY AT THE DOG BEACH

It was a beautiful weekend so we decided to head out to the Donald Trump golf course and public trails. There is a great dog beach at the bottom of the cliffs there so we hiked down this super steep trail with baby and dog in tow and let everyone run loose. It was definately worth the hike. Banjo ran like the wind and made lots of doggie friends and Gavin had a great time investigating all the rocks, seaweed, and driftwood. It was a little cool, but the sun was shining and everyone had a great day.

Gavin kept trying to run into the waves despite the fact that it was a cold winter day and the water was even colder. We really had to watch him to keep him from getting soaked.

Curtis has been teaching Gavin how to throw, so they spent a lot of time practicing throwing rocks into the water.

GAVIN AND BANJO

Gavin and his big brother. These two are quite the dynamic duo--double the trouble, but twice the fun!

OUR FIRST VISIT TO OUR NEW BEACH IN MALIBU

Gavin spent a good amount of time trying catch these seagulls that were nearby. Curtis had been throwing crackers for them, so I guess the birds thought is was worth the hassle of getting chased to get some food. Gavin never got very close to catching them.

CHRISTMAS VACATION IN FLORIDA

Gavin was given this ridiculous pacifier with "Billy-Bob" teeth on it as a stocking stuffer. Of Course Grandpa had to pull out his set of fake nasty teeth too and pose with Gavin. Poor kid!

CHRISTMAS 2007

Christmas 2007 was spent in Florida this year with Grandpa and Grandma Parker and Aunt Tammy. It was such a nice vacation spent with family and going on day trips to Orlando and St. Augustine.

Gavin was really into opening all his gifts this year, and believe me, he had three times as many presents as everyone else combined! He liked ripping all the paper and was fascinated by all the bows and ribbons. So much fun!
